Say I understand....but is that the truth?

I was talking to a friend recently about what we go through in life - the pain, hardship, heartache, sorrow, misery... We all cannot run from that, all that is in our life comes in pairs - man & woman, day & night, sun & moon, negative & positive...everything. That will surely include happiness & sorrow....

One thing i never agree (maybe it is just me and others might object) is that when we share our pain with others - we often hear the words of comfort ~ 'i know how you feel....'. But is it true? Do you agree? I surely don't because no one can ever feel the same as what we feel. No one is the same. Yes - someone might have some idea of what we endure but to lay claim they know exactly and precisely what you feel deep inside?

Why they say that? A lie? Maybe...call it a white lie to make us feel better. Still we have to be thankful we have others who would listen to us and what we have to take out from within...

What we go through is a test, a challenge from God to see how we will react and proceed from then on...

" Life is an opera stage and we are the puppets..." but who pulls the strings?

What I've done - Linkin Park

This song has been in my head for the whole week...maybe cause Transformers 2 is out this week. Below is the lyrics :

What I've Done lyrics – Linkin’ Park (OST Transformers)

In this farewell
There’s no blood
There’s no Alibi‘
Cause I’ve Drawn Regret
From the truthOf a Thousand Lies

[Pre-Chorus]
So let Mercy Come
And Wash Away

[Chorus]
what i`ve Done
I've faced myself
To Cross out what I’ve Become
Erase Myself
And let Go of What I’ve done

Put to rest
What you Thought of Me
While I clean this Slate
With the Hands of Uncertainty

[Pre-Chorus]
[Chorus]

For What I’ve Done
I start again
And whatever pain may come
Today this ends
I’m Forgiving What I’ve Done

[Chorus]
What I’ve Done
Forgiving What I’ve Done

King of Pop - Micheal Jackson dies...

The world mourns the lost of an entertainer...

"Death will come to us all....."

"When the calling comes, it will not be advanced or delayed by even a second. We will all leave this world eternally and meet our Creator where we will be judged for all our deeds be it good or bad..."

A poem for my son

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;

If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

-- Rudyard Kipling

This poem is dedicated to my son - Happy Birthday!

This poem has always had a special place in my heart, probably because i have seen it hung outside my parents room since i was a kid (my father loves english literature and he is very good at it!).

You are 2 today...

My son is 2 years old today - June 12th. Dah besar anak mama + anak ayah ni.... Seemed only yesterday i saw you were born, held you in my hands and call for prayers in your ears. Today, here you are on your 2nd birthday. Subhanallah....

Happy Birthday my son - may Allah bless you in this life and the next, may you be a man who will stand tall and never lose your virtue. Mama and Ayah will always doa the best for you in everything. My prayers also that Allah grants us both long life and health so that we can see the greatness of a man you'll become and we can both then shed tears of happiness to know that all our efforts, hardship and prayers have come true.

On this day i hope you will forgive me for all that i have hurt you directly or indirectly. I am only human too and lack all the qualities a father can be. All that i have of me is love, love and more love. That is all i know and all other qualities fall short of what i am. So my son - please forgive me as all the sin in this world to you is for me trying to be a father that i might never be. Though i may fall short of being a father to you - i always pray that you'll be someone better than i can ever be with the blessings of Allah.

Enough said......let's enjoy the cake!

Caption I (One)

Captions - I love them. They are true representation of life in simple words. Some call them words of wisdom..words from the wise man. Common to any culture, language and religion of this earth - they exist. Some occasions the captions are direct, bold and uncomprimising. Some are very hidden, methaporic in essence.
Here is one i wish to share that i like - simple but honest.

"Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance"

I will share more in the upcoming posts.

Jeffaraya - why the name?

I've had this same question many times before - why the name? Well, it has history and goes way back in time.....

Jeff ~ an old name i had even during primary school years

Araya ~ from Tom Araya, vocalist/bassist of Slayer

I even carried the name 'Cavalera' behind that name once before but dropped it as it was too long! Imagine 'Jeff Araya Cavalera'....sounds chicano/latin huh? Hahaha.....

Cavalera ~ from Max Cavalera, now vocalist/guitarist of Soulfly + Cavalera Conspiracy, ex-vocalist/guitarist of Sepultura

Now you know - i love metal! I even had my own band few years back...those were the days
Bands i admire and adore includes :
  • Iron Maiden

  • Sepultura (the old one when they had Max and Igor)
  • Slayer

  • Metallica

  • Pantera

and several more.... Those above are the cream of Metal for me
